Discovering Rumi is the starting point of your journey into the world and teachings of Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi.
Designed for learners with no previous knowledge of Rumi, Persian poetry or Sufism, this programme introduces his ideas through simple explanations, selected stories, poetry and reflection.
The aim is not simply to study Rumi, but to begin understanding the questions at the heart of his teachings: Who am I? What shapes the way I see the world? What is love? What holds me back? And how can I grow as a human being?
What Is Included?
Book One – An Introduction to Rumi’s Teachings
Book One introduces the learner to Rumi’s view of the human being, life, love, knowledge, ethics and personal transformation. His ideas are explored through selected stories and verses from his works and connected to situations we recognise in contemporary life.
Rumi Podcasts
The accompanying podcasts bring Rumi’s stories and teachings to life. Learners can listen to selected poems, explanations and reflections, making it possible to experience Rumi while travelling, walking or simply taking some quiet time for themselves.
The Poetry Book
The poetry collection brings together carefully selected verses used throughout the programme, presented in the original Persian together with English translation and explanation. It allows learners to return to Rumi’s words, reflect on them and gradually develop their own relationship with his poetry.
Your First Step into Rumi’s World
You can read, listen and reflect at your own pace. There are no examinations and no need for previous academic knowledge.
Discovering Rumi is not about finding the “correct” interpretation of every poem. It is about allowing Rumi’s words to raise questions, encourage reflection and perhaps help us see ourselves and our lives a little differently.

How to Study Book One
Discovering Rumi – Book One has been arranged as a step-by-step learning programme on our Online Campus.
Rather than simply reading the book from beginning to end, learners are guided through the programme in a structured sequence. Each stage brings together the relevant reading, Rumi’s poetry and stories, podcasts, explanations and opportunities for personal reflection.
You can follow the programme at your own pace and return to any section whenever you wish.
How to Join
To begin your journey:

- Create your personal account on our Online Campus.
- Select Discovering Rumi – Book One.
- Enrol in the programme and begin with the first section.
- Follow the lessons step by step, reading, listening and reflecting as you progress.
There is no need to rush. The purpose is not simply to finish the programme, but to give yourself time to understand, reflect and discover what Rumi’s teachings mean to you personally.
